Featuring context based Help throughout, the app also tracks multiple Goals by Category and the status of each goal.
Visualizing goals prior to achieving them has long been known to provide enormous benefit. But to get the most out of goal visualization, it needs to be structured. This app does that by providing goal visualization that is comprised of the user’s Goal Statement, their Reasons and Motivators, Goal Images (both moving towards and moving away from), and the ability to accompany the visualization with an inspiring and energizing musical Soundtrack.

On launch, the app displays a dashboard, providing a clear summary of how many goals the user has, with a breakdown based on progress (Not Started Goals, In Progress Goals, and Completed Goals). This lets the user readily see how they are tracking. Touching any of these three categories brings up a summarized list of the goals in that category (the list can be sorted according to the user’s preferences), and selecting a specific goal brings up the Goal window where goal information is presented in six modules: Goal, Attributes, Reasons, Motivators, Images, and Soundtrack.
Touching the Goal module opens an editable text field and the keyboard, allowing entry of a description of the Goal. In defining a Goal the app advises, “Be Specific” (avoid ambiguity), “Make it Measurable” (have a clear target), “Be Concise” (briefly stated Goals are easier to remember), “Use Positive Language” (phrase Goals as what to do, rather than what not to do), and “Be Realistic” (set challenging, but attainable Goals). The Goal module also contains the Play button for the Goal Visualizer function. Activating this function plays a powerful, personalized movie made up of text, photos, and music designed to help the user experience the motivations, behaviors, and benefits associated with their goal.
The Attributes module in Aspire Goals allows the user to assign the following attributes to his or her goal: Priority, Category, Deadline, and Progress. Priority may be set to High, Medium, Low, or None. Category can be set with a color-coded ribbon. Categories include Health, Fitness, Financial, Spiritual, Education, Relationships, Career, and Fun, and the user can add their own categories as well. Deadline can be dialed in using the Apple picker for any day and date or set to None. Progress can be tracked by Percentage, Target Value, or number of Steps completed. For Target Values, units of measurement can be specified, e.g., pounds, dollars, minutes. For Steps, a description of each step can be entered.
The Reasons module allows users to enter the compelling reasons they are undertaking their goal. Reasons can be added, deleted, and edited, and the app’s Help function provides valuable advice in a section entitled, “Defining Your Reasons.” The Motivators module permits the entry of Quotes, Affirmations, Beliefs, and Supporting Statements. Motivators help support Reasons by supplying inspiration. The Images module lets goal setters illustrate their aspiration using two types of images. Moving Towards pictures represent the outcome or result of what they are trying to achieve, while Moving Away images illustrate what they are trying to avoid (deliberately saved in grayscale, to contrast with the colorful, positive images saved previously). Finally, the Soundtrack module permits the user to select an appropriate song or piece of music to accompany the text and images viewed in the Goal Visualizer.
The Goal Visualizer is where the true power of Aspire Goals becomes apparent. The app automatically creates a personalized, motivational, audio-visual presentation incorporating all the information that has been entered. This sophisticated, psychological tool has been proven to help individuals achieve their goals faster and more often than simple, informal resolutions. “By putting aside time each day to visualize your most important goals, you will become more attuned to opportunities that can help you accomplish your goal.
